URLs show Page ID only for topics in SOME spaces

Kimberly Onnen February 2, 2021

We have several Documentation spaces. All of our NEW topics in NEW spaces have the page ID appended to the end of the URL.

For example, I just created a test space (and selected to create a Documentation space as always). The two sample topics also have the page ID at the end of the URL:

  • https://xxx/ts/making-a-template-80150615.html

Prior to this, the URLs would just be the topic title.

I also just created a new topic in an existing space SCHED45 and that topic does NOT have the numbers at the end. None of the topics in this space have the numbers.

Why would some spaces have the numbers in the URL and some don't?? I always select to create a Documentation space. Is there some other odd setting? I don't want the numbers at the end.

(Well, I guess it doesn't matter if I select to create a Document space. I just created a blank space and added some test topics and the URLs all end with numbers. I'm guessing these are the page IDs??)

We are on Atlassian Confluence 6.9.1 (Server).

No special characters are in the titles. We use Scroll Viewport.
