A beta feature has been turned on for all users, causing a mass email to be sent out. I need it to be OFF for the entire user base. Currently, the beta default is ON. Can I make that change?
This "feature" has been turned and off for years, but is now back in 2024. It could be disabled on server and data center, but not the case with cloud.
I just noticed this new Admin feature called NOTIFICATIONS. I did opt to turn off the recommendations email at a global level. Not sure if the intent was to fix the problem I had previously identified, but that's now I am interpreting it.
Please fix this as soon as possible. I don't want people in my organization to be distracted by random content they should not be looking at. Not because they should not be able to, but simply because it is not relevant at that point in time.

Agreed - we use public spaces for our different clients, and while it's okay that the data is public, we still don't want our different clients getting notifications about updates to pages that aren't relevant to them.
PLEASE give us a way to turn this off.

@michelle_bachmann This is indeed super-annoying that this beta feature was turned on without us having to opt in. I contacted Atlassian support and they confirmed that for Cloud installs there is currently no way for an admin to remediate this and that the users have to opt out, which is completely unacceptable.
On the bright side, I was able to request that support turn off Notifications for the Recommended Updates beta for the entire site. This at least stopped the spam for now. It's kind of a brute-force solution but until they provide more control for the admins, like being able to opt certain spaces out being included in those updates, that is what we have. Hope that helps.

@michelle_bachmann I don't see this in my instance or in the recent release notes.
The page you linked to is a Data Center page, but you indicate that you are on Cloud. Did your site opt in to some sort of Beta for this feature?

No, we didn't opt in. There is no way to shut if off in Cloud, only ways to disable in server or data center.

@michelle_bachmann This now shows in my cloud instance, but it is not turned on and I am blocked from selecting it. It may have something to do with my account being managed by my organization.
