There is a pencil icon in my confluence page

There is a pencil icon in my confluence page. I see my contents when I edit it. But I don't see my updates after I publish/update the page. All I see is pencil icon next to bullets.

Hi @Rekha Harnoor ,

Can you please share the screenshot of the pencil icon from the Confluence Page?

It appears that this is not part of the Confluence and it is due to any other app. If you are getting any error message, then please share it as well.

Thanks,
Amith Mathur

I don't know if anyone has a similar issue but I randomly stumbled on this today. Turns out it came up because I copied the workflow list in "summary" of a jira project which had the Jira pencil icon in there.

For some reason this Pencil Icon does not play well with the formatting at all, you can't see it during edit either. And it puts new changes behind it so you can't see your updates after it.

I had to cut all my text out, paste it into notepad to wipe all weird formatting involved, and then paste it back in to remove it.
