In Confluence Cloud, when I insert an image, it defaults to left aligned. When I click on the image, the image toolbar appears under the image with the options to link, add alt text, or delete. But, with images that are already centered (no idea how I got it to center and stay in place), the options in the image toolbar now include align left, center, right, and wrap text left and right. How do I get all these options available for all images?
I tried some suggestions for centering but they aren't working. If I click in the middle of the image and drag the cursor to the bottom left corner as suggested, it does center the image but also moves that centered image to the top of the page.
I've tried Edge, Chrome, and Firefox browsers and the options are missing n all three browsers. Thanks for any suggestions or help.
Yes, as Alex mentioned, if you add images to normal paragragh, by default they will be aligned in center, you can change it to left or right as required. But if you add images to a numbered or bullet list, those options will be gone. As a workaround, don't use numbered list at all and simply start paragraph with 1-, 2-, 3- and add images to it, so that you will have the options to align the images.
So I added an image a page with a normal paragraph it center-justified by default it with no options to right or left justify it.
However, *creating* a bullet then forces it to left-justify (again with no options to change it), the *opposite* of the expected behavior described above.
PS. Justification Options in pop-up menu missing, options in top-level menu greyed out and there's no way to embed it in a 'paragraph' to turn them on. The image 'deletes' when you try to join it with existing text.

I am also experiencing this issue - though it is specifically when I attempt to add an image inside a macro like tabs or expand.
Then I experience the behavior stephcr describes:
If I add an image in the normal page body text outside of a macro, the alignment options appear in the pop-up image formatting menu as expected.

I have this same problem. It is very frustrating. Should there be a separate thread for this issue or is there a solution?

Hi @Denny Derr and welcome!!
I've tried inserting a few images, and although all align in the middle, all of them have the option to change the alignment. I've tried with png, jpg and gif.
Can you please share a screenshot of your page, as well as the image which you can't align? What type is it? Does this error occur in other pages as well?

Alex, thanks for getting back to me. The first screenshot is of the basic knowledge base entries - but all the others are similar in format; just more images. The second one is in edit mode with the image toolbar displayed. Let me know if this helps.

Aaa! Now it's clearer!
Same thing occurred to me a couple of months ago, and I figured out that when you place an image on indentation on bullets or numbering, this thing happens! If you place your image on "normal" paragraph, then you'll see that you have all the options available :)

Thanks, Alex. I did notice that normal paragraphs have the options below images but all mine are going to be in a numbered list. I just tried copying a centered image from a normal paragraph and pasting it into a list and it switched to left aligned.
Wonder if there's a fix for aligning in bullets.
