Using the new confluence whiteboards, I wrote some rather long text (~500 words) in a few of the "rectangular shapes" (not a sticky note). Last night it seemed to all be fine, this morning 90% of the text in those boxes has disappeared and does not seem to be recoverable. No one else has used this board other than me.
Is this a "feature"?
Are there some hard limits on characters / words?
Is there any way to recover it?
@William Hattersley welcome to the community!
Are you certain that the text wasn't removed by someone else in the team? I would suggest raising a ticket with Atlassian to see what could have caused this.
(Almost) absolutely certain. I'm the only person working on this board and we're a very small team (no one has owned up to it)

@William Hattersley please do reach out to Atlassian support and update us here in case this was a bug so it can help others facing the same behaviour :)

Will do.
I believe I have identified the cause which is the use of subscript and superscript characters in equations.
Images are in the order of actions as described above^^

In my original image that prompted the question, the last character left, q (with a subscript o) was the first subscript character and all text was removed after that
