Hello,
we are using the standard daily backup to backup our on-premise instance of Confluence (Version 6.14.1).
I want to do a test recovery of the backup on an other server.
I need an instruction / manual how to do the backup and I need a test license for the other server or what you use in this case.
Greetings.
Jakob Cyll
Hi Jakob,
This depends on what method you're using to backup Confluence. If you're using the recommended Production Backup Strategy, you can restore the instance by following the steps on Migrating Between Servers.
If you instead used the built-in XML backup, you can restore by following the steps on Restoring a Site.
For more information, see Site Backup and Restore.
I hope this helps!

We test backups by doing the following:
The keys are the same as we turn it off after the backup validation. If you are planning on running it longer for development you will need to generate a development license and update it.
