I have a Confluence page with a permanent table at the bottom. I want to remove it, but it cannot be edited. I cannot add/edit/delete the text in any of the cells, I can't add or remove rows or columns. I can't change the color of cells or text.
I can sort the rows, and I can add or remove the numbering column, but that's all I can do.
All other tables on the page function correctly, it's just this table at the bottom that's a problem.
I created the page originally. I'm not sure when the orphan table began. I could try deleting the page and starting over, but a lot of people use this page throughout the day. Any other ideas?
That is interesting. I think that you can try to copy the page first and see if that can be edited in some way.. If not maybe using REST API could help (download the source code, edit and upload it again)
Another thing that I would suggest to try is to select all content (in edit more) using CTRL + A shortcut and delete everything (You should not worry.. you can revert to previous version, right? .. if table would be removed than it means that it could be removed without touching anything else.
Also there should be a database option as well. This article related to replacing macros might be helpful - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-bulk-update-confluence-content-through-the-database-to-replace-old-macros-with-new-ones-1018780615.html (simply we need to remove some specific table)
Thanks @Mirek
I ended up creating a new page and copying everything else over. Then I deleted the old page with the permanent table at the bottom. Copying it didn't work, as the table copied itself, too.
There might have been another way, but I'm not an admin on the system and can't see what's caused the table.
