I am trying to install Confluence on a fresh Setup of Debian Jessie. I get the following error:
root@wiki:/tmp# ./atlassian-confluence-6.0.6-x64.bin
Unpacking JRE ...
Starting Installer ...
/tmp/atlassian-confluence-6.0.6-x64.bin.17563.dir/jre/bin/java: 1: /tmp/atlassian-confluence-6.0.6-x64.bin.17563.dir/jre/bin/java: Syntax error: end of file unexpected (expecting ")")
Could it be that you have the wrong version? 32 instead of 64?
Hi Stefan,
same problem on Linux mint, also with the newer 6.1.0 version. Looks like a broken installer to me.
You can use the tar archive instead.
Cheers
Claudio

same error here with ubuntu 16 LTS >> strange thing is: we are already running an older Confluence version (5.10) that we used for testing ...
we just wanted to upgrade using the installer, but getting no other error message (also not in any logs) but "/usr/bin/java: 1: /usr/bin/java: Syntax error: end of file unexpected (expecting ")")"
AND: the same thing with manually installation of the tar-files.
Extraction works starting brings up only the error message
any ideas?
