We currently have 2000 users within Confluence. We are trying to estimate how much support (Full time employees) are required for a user base this size ? This would include upgrades, user support, etc.
It depends.
1 FTE could support that many, however, how needy are the users? are they supporting other tools?
Upgrades are not that labor intensive and if you only have one server/DC one FTE is sufficient.
If they are hand-holding end users you may need a team.
Are they also supporting Jira? Or a CI/CD tool, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc, Artifactory, these are often loaded on the support teams.
