I deleted (not archived) a Space to free up Confluence storage amount, but it still exceeds 2 GB after two weeks.

Nothing big in other space, attachments sums up to some MB's.

I can't contact support because of using free plan. So I feel stuck there.  Maybe there is something that I'm missing or I have to wait even longer in this case?

Hi @Oskars Pētermanis

Deleting a space only moves it Thrash... you need to manually remove it from the Thrash.

Just making sure you did that, it's not entirely obvious... :)

  1. Click Spaces.
  2. Select View all spaces.
  3. Click the Thrashed button (it's one of the All, Watching, Starred... buttons)
The deleted space should be listed there.
  4. Select the space and a three dot menu appears ...
  5. Click ... and click Delete permanently.

@Kristian Klima I guess there is no way to delete ALL trashed spaces in bulk, and you have to do it manually?
I find it soo frustrating, moving them to trash one by one (takes 5 clicks) and then another two clicks to delete the space permanently. It doesn't matter when you have less than 10 spaces to remove, but as I am doing the major cleanup in my company's Confluence, I have over 300 of them to delete... multiply it 7 times (for 7 clicks to delete a space permanently) makes 2100 clicks which together with the page reload time is really time consuming :/

If you have any tips to remove the spaces in bulk, I would be more than happy to hear about them.
TIA

@Mirka Osojca

Well, it's now October...

"The automatic deletion of spaces in trash is scheduled to start taking place on January 2025."

You can wait it out :)

On a more serious note, I think there's a reason this is not done in bulk. To prevent accidental deletion.

Yeah, I guess that accidental deletion could be a bummer. Anyway, it would not be so annoying, as long as you could move them to trash in bulk - it would save some time :)

Hi @Oskars Pētermanis

Have you deleted it permantly? When you delete a space it is moved to trash first. You can check by going to "View all spaces" and fitler for the "trash" category.

If your space appears there, click the (...) and choose "delete permanently"

It really was there. Thanks.

Now I have to think how I missed it.

1) I guess I haven't read carefully enough deletion confirmation. I remember there was something about archiving and deleting permanently. I didn't remember was there anything about moving to trash. Probably for better UX the final button could be called "Move to trash".

2) Visiting All spaces there was many user spaces and I didn't filter by "trashed". If there is anything in trash, there could be menu option under Spaces with Trashed spaces. Maybe that would help for people that can't see in other places.

But overall - never mind, I'm just thinking out loud about my experience :)

It's not really obvious and the few places where it is documented are indexed poorly, as a Google search doesn't nessecarily find them ;)

Now there is another Community thread that will be able to help others.
