Smart links not working with some links

When I paste some links (for example this one) using the link tool, Confluence doesn't convert it to a smart link, it just stays as a normal link.

And when I paste links using the keyboard (command + V) Confluence never converts them to smart links, they all stay as normal links.

Here's an example of what happens:

IMDB.com links cannot display as Smartlinks as well. Why is not clear. So it is not only Loom.com links.

We have an app on the marketplace to bulk change links from Smartlinks to ULR (or the reverse) called Link Editor by Easy Apps, a user reported this (and we verified it).
