Slow downs on the login Page of Confluence after Upgrading 5.10.7 -> 6.11.0

Marcel Stock September 27, 2018

Hello,

we recently upgraded Confluence from version 5.10.7 to 6.11.0 and ever since then, we are experiencing slow downs on our login page of Confluence. According to the logs, it seems to be due to RefinedTheme.

It usually takes 3-5 seconds for the login page to open (from a uncached browser) which is way too slow for a production environment. It only took us 0,8-1 seconds of loading time (with a uncached browser) on our old version of Confluence.

A little snippet of the performance log :

2018-09-27 11:04:13,194 DEBUG [https-jsse-nio-443-exec-12] [atlassian.util.profiling.UtilTimerStack] log [2835ms] - /s/f3db32526dc5e92b70ccf22c452001d5-CDN/de_DE/7801/0ac8ad8167063a2d16fb426a10b9044cf4bf1b17/6.0.8/_/download/batch/com.refinedwiki.confluence.plugins.theme.original:core-resources/com.refinedwiki.confluence.plugins.theme.original:core-resources.js
[0ms] - PermissionManager.isSystemAdministrator()
[0ms] - UserAccessor.isDeactivated()

This issue is mostly on the login page as well, which seems to be another confusing factor.

We are currently running RefinedTheme version 6.0.8.

Is there way to improve the caching for RefinedTheme server side (or the login screen in general)?

I already opened a ticketaimed specifically at the creators of RefinedTheme. I am just wondering if anyone that is experienced had a similar issue in the past - or has any knowledge how to handle this problem and increase our speed?

Thanks!
