Sidebar navigation does not appear in confluence documentation theme on iPad

devinmancuso February 19, 2014

This was originally raised here:

https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/89120/how-to-make-the-documentation-theme-sidebar-show-up-when-rendering-page-on-ipad

Which resulted in this ticket being raised:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-26916

Which was marked as 'wont fix' in Feburary 2013 due to the fact that the 5.0 release would render the request obselete.

Now Feb 2014, there doesn't seem to be a fix for this, which makes the documentation theme on tablets extremely difficult to use (when viewing full site mode). Has there been an admin setting included to turn on the sidebar navigation for tablet devices?

Additionally I realise that there is now a mobile view for confluence, but I find it extremely cumbersome to use, and would simply prefer the desktop view shrunk down.

Hi Devin, the admin can disable the mobile interface through the add ons pane. Regarding the future of documentation theme per se, maybe this post can shed some light into the matter.

I did find this feature request for a sidebar in Confluence mobile, which appears to fit some of the above mentioned concerns.

Thanks Guilherme,

Seems it'll just be a case of waiting for someone to pick up that ticket.
