Separate TOCs in Localtab Macro

Hi, I have a bi-lingual article (English & French) Created using the Localtab macro. However, when I insert the ToC macro within each localtab(Eng & FR) the ToC gets merged - that is, it contains both the English and the French text in the ToC.

Can we have separate ToC in each localtab?

Hello Namita, welcom to the community.

Based on your mention of Localtab, I assume you have our app Navitabs in use in your Confluence.

The table of content macro creates a table of contents from the page it is on. Even if it is inside a tab.

For your use case, I would recommend you proceed as follows. On the page where you want to add the tab navigation with the 2 language versions, create two subpages (child pages).

  • A child page with the content and the ToC macro for the English version.
  • A child page with the content and ToC macro of the French version.

On the original page (parent page) you can now set the "Childtabs" macro instead of the "Localtab-Group" and "Localtab" macros. This macro will automatically generate the tab navigation based on the child pages. And on each tab's content, the ToC will only list the contents of its own page.

I hope this information helps you. If you have any further questions about our apps, you can always contact our support.

Best regards
