Hello,
When in edit mode and selecting text with mouse, it auto-selects a bigger part of the document or even the whole document i.e. I select a sentence and it auto-selects the whole expand section. This is very frustrating, is anyone facing the same issue? Please advice on how to fix this bug.
Thank you.
This is a huge issue when editing tickets - so frustrating.
I just started having this issue too this week where I try to highlight a single line to edit and it's expanding outside of my selection. It's making me look like an idiot when I'm sharing my screen during meetings and causing it to take way longer to make simple text updates.

Just adding here that I've been facing the exact same issue since yesterday when selecting any type of text in Jira issues. I do think something is going on.

Hi @Andrea Mappoura and welcome to the community,
I dont have this kind of problem on my instance. On edit mode, I select a word on the expand macro, and only this word is selected. A video/gif of your confluence's behaviour would be great to understand what's going on.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for the quick reply.

Oook.. so:
For this bug you should create a support ticket on support.atlassian.com/contact. But I wouldn't hold my hopes that high to fix them. Everything is according to their bug policy and this seems pretty low.

Thank you for your help Alex.
Regarding the first point, this indeed is not a problem.
However, the biggest issue that I am facing is when I select a specific text from a cell and it ends up selecting text from another cell or even a text/image from another expand macro. We select text for copy/delete purposes and this is very time consuming as we have to copy/delete text word by word.

I mean, the frustrating part is that this was working.
It's frustrating that now it doesn't, and I have to figure out another option.

Agree, I've been experiencing this issue for about a month and it's really frustrating, makes editing almost unusable. My recap: when you are highlighting text, it will force selection of a large section of text ABOVE what you have selected, so you can't delete a section for example. Applies to text paragraphs, numbered lists, and bullet lists.

@Alex Koxaras _Relational_ I think you misunderstood the impact and priority of the issue. Also, many accounts do not have the ability to open tickets directly. Can you or someone from Atlassian help with this bug and making sure it's reported?

Noting that this issue is now occurring for several members of my team as of January 2024.
The ticket then scrolls to the bottom of the comments and when I scroll back to the Description field, everything down from where my mouse click occurred has now been highlighted.

I can confirm this happens on Windows / Chrome as of Feb 2024 but NOT MS Edge. A more detailed breakdown of how to replicate the bug:
-On the issue detail page, click the edit button for the description field.
-Enter so much text or hit enter until the description field shows a scroll bar.
-Try selecting text with your mouse. The entire page scrolls to the bottom.
The bug does not happen if the scroll bar in the description field isn't enabled.
The bug does not happen at all when using Microsoft Edge.
This is specifically a bug in Google Chrome.

I found this thread when googling because I was starting to think the problem existed between the keyboard and chair, e.g. me.
Chrome, Windows. I confirm it is still an issue.
