When I type in the search field, auto-complete suggests appropriate pages, but when I submit the search there are never any results found.

Results are also not returned in the API

I've found many places issues that suggest re-indexing, but we do not have that option, just a box that says "Temporarily, currently only sysadmin can change indexing language and reindex all documents. Contact Atlassian Support if you need help."

We do not get support because we're on the free plan.

Any other suggestions?

Hi @jeremy and welcome,

reindexing is not allowed in a cloud instance (just for Server/DataCenter). It should be performed through an internal job. If you need to run a manual reindexing you need to raise a support request here.

thank you for the response, however I cannot create a support ticket because we're on a free plan. that link just tell me to ask the community.

Can you think of any other ways to solve search issues that don't involve a re-index?
