Search does not work

When I search for something in the search box, nothing happens.

All the health checks are ok.

I have rebuilt the index (from scratch), but to no avail.

In the console (F12 in chrome), I see the following two errors:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()
2batch.js?locale=en-US:641 fail to load confluence-search-ui-plugin-main

Do you know Confluence works behind reverse proxy?

If it is, could you double check direct search ?

It is not behind a reverse proxy. We're accessing it directly on the network using our own local DNS server.

To rule out any DNS issues, I have temporarily changed the base URI to use the ip-address directly instead of the DNS name, and used the ip-address to access it. It did not fix the search. I did rebuild the index (indexing is fast because the Confluence DB is still very small).

As I mentioned in the original question, I already did a reindex from scratch, but it did not help.

I'm afraid this as far as we got and we never solved this. We've moved to Confluence Cloud now.

It turned out that omitting the "www." in the URL lead to a failing XSRF check as can be seen in the logs.

Using the "www." URL did the trick.
