We're looking for a way to better plan the work of our developers. Currently issues are assigned and developers jump around projects as required. To better plan for the future we'd like a calendar type view with all the developers and the ability to easily assign developers to one or more projects on a day to day basis.

Can anyone suggest a way of doing this or a suitable plugin?

We have both Jira Cloud and Confluence.

Hello there!

James, we could use the Timeline View for the Team Calendar macro in Confluence. This would look like this in Edit Mode:

And like this in View Mode:

If we look at the "swimlanes" the macro has given us, we can see who is invited to those events. Also, if we have enough permissions editing those events is then possible. With this power, developers can be re-assigned to another project easily.

What we could do is:

  1. Create a New Calendar
    1. Create, add and edit calendars
  2. Add events as needed
  3. Add the Calendar Macro from Team Calendars in a page where you could access it
  4. Switch to Timeline View
  5. Publish the page

Hey James, let us know if this helps you out! Looking forward your reply.
