Retention Rules

Hello all.

I am just thinking about creating a retention rule for attachments and have a question:

if I set a rule to delete every attachment version older than 3 years and a space has only ONE (no additional versions) attachment that is 5 years old, will this attachment be deleted or only if an attachment has more than 1 version? Will the latest existing attachment always resist?

Same regarding page versions: will older pages that have no additional version always resist?

Hi,

The documentation says

You can set a retention rule for:

  • historical page versions (pages only, you can't set a retention rule for blog posts)
  • historical attachment versions, and
  • items in the trash.

From my understating is that only it is removing historical versions. If attachments does not have it it should be preserved. At least I did not hear that some attachments (or pages) were suddenly removed..

To be fully sure if you have a test system simply turn this on and check on a specific page/attachment how it behave.
