Restrict access to an account for a special IP address

Bianka Reinhardt August 7, 2012

Is it possible to restrict the access to our account to our company IP address? The access to our wiki should be possible only trough our IP adress by working in the office or via VPN.

Hi Bianka,

I'm sorry to say that as you are an OnDemand customer, this isn't possible because it is a restricted function in OnDemand: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Restricted+Functions+in+Atlassian+OnDemand

However, we do have an open feature request to ask that this functionality is added to a future version of OnDemand and therefore I can only suggest that you watch/vote/comment on the issue to encourage our developers to prioritise it's implementation: https://studio.atlassian.com/browse/JST-2636

All the best,
John

No. Security by IP is a bad idea, but that's a different question.

If you want to do it, you can't do it in the application, you need to do it before the application, which means via your proxy, firewall, network filter etc.

If you're with OnDemand as your label says, I don't know if Atlassian will do it - raise a support request. If you're not, and it's your own installation, then talk to your network team.
