Restore Confluence Installation Server is gone but database is fine

The server that had the Confluence site and installation was corrupted and is gone (no backup available). The database on the other hand in untouched and in working condition. When I try to install the confluence software again (created another virtual server with same hostname and ip) I get to the set up screen and it doesn't have an option to just connect to a database instead of overwriting it.

Db - MSSQL

OS - Windows Server 2016Std

What options do I have in this case?

• Get the same version of confluence as you were using before.
• Now before you start your confluence setup datasource
  • Follow this - https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/configuring-a-datasource-connection-937166084.html
• Now start your confluence.

It will some part of your problem.

But all your attachment (confluence store them in home folder and not in database) and home data is gone.

I ended up doing as you said and I got most of the instance back.
