Hi,
Today, I received the Atlassian release note that states that if you don't have access to a space, you can request access, and it will be forwarded to the space creator.
Does anyone else think this is weird? Space creator is a field that can't be updated; it means that over time the creator isn't relevant anymore (moved role, left or IT in medium plus organs). Do you know why the requests aren't sent to a space Admin?
And speaking of which, do you miss a field for space owners? I keep a separate all-org table for space owners, who are business /org functionality and are in charge of the space's content.
Best,
Tami
Hi @Tami Dubi
Not sure if this feature only rely on "Space creator". Was it announce that way?
According to this post it is still using Space admins
Once the user requests access, it will send an email notification to select administrators. Specifically, it will send an access request email notification to Space administrators that are directly added to the Space (i.e. those visible on the “users” tab). We will select 20% of those admins, rounded up to a maximum of 5 admins.
Hi,
I attached screenshot from Atlassian weekly release notes. This is a change that is rolling out now.
I realy hope this is a writer error and it will go to the space admins and not to the space creator
Best,
Tami

Thank you @Tami Dubi for sharing. I think that it is a write error. @Kristen Waters could you please clarify on this? Is it really how it would work as described by you on the post?

Via space "Details" I'm the "Created by" user. Today I received an access request email. However, in the email sent out it referred to me (not as "Created by" but) as "Owned by". I am also a member of a group that is defined (along with 4 individuals and several builtin "apps"(!?!?)) as an Administrator of the space. So I can't be certain what logic is behind determining who receives these access request emails. I also can't find where to configure or disable this "user access request"/"access request email recipients" functionality. Usual Atlassian SNAFU.
