So I've had a few people report that when they search for something they are still getting old content from archived pages showing up in their search results. This has led to a few people getting wrong information.
How can I prevent this from happening? From my understanding, archived pages and their content are removed from the pages that will be searched when a user performs one.
Or, is there a way that I can make it more obvious on a page that it's been archived beside the small banner that is automatically put at the top?
Can anyone help?
Hi Wes - I've ran across this as well.
A couple ideas while Atlassian fixes this:
Possibly a combo of these. I agree with you, archived content should be excluded from "viewers" search index.
Archived info is not included on search.
If I check my instance, this would only be visible if a user selects the option under more filters

Sorry for the thread necromancy but I came here for the same issue. Archived info does show in the quick search, but not advanced search. If it's in your personal viewing history, the quick search will continue to populate it. It's a bit maddening.
