We use Confluence to do some status reporting and want to see only the *latest* Jira comment for selected issues. Right now we see the description on the Confluence. I have found many years old approaches to reversing comment order, or using javascript hacks, but I don't want to simply try a 5 year old hack, if something else actually works.
Any way to show only the last Jira comment on a Confluence page? Ideally without purchasing a plugin like (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1214301/comment-toolbox-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=pricing)
Hello Casey,
You may be able to create a CSS stylesheet which allows you to reverse the sort order of a table, gadget, etc. I can assist with creating an example CSS stylesheet for your requirements. In order to do this, can you please post a screenshot of what your report currently looks like? From that I will attempt to re-create and test a stylesheet. Please also note that CSS Stylesheets are only available for Confluence server and not available (as of the date of this post) on Confluence cloud.
Ideally, customization works for the time being but there may be issues in the future as you progress through upgrades. The safest option would be to use an add-on to ensure it is supported through your upgrade versions.
We look forward to your response to get you a solution.

Stephen Sifers
Basically, we just have a report and it's using JQL to get the Stories, Task, Sub-Task for a specific epic, then display the last commenter, comment, and comment date for each task. If we can get this working this will allow the team to quickly go over project status in a meeting by have a confluence page render this query. If there is a better option for displaying this data for status meetings, we are open to another solution.

Hello again Casey,
Presently, there is not a way to view comments from a Jira issue within Confluence outside of using a marketplace add-on. There is a feature request already submitted for viewing Jira issue comments within Confluence. You can find more about that feature request at: CONFSERVER-32764 (server) and CONFCLOUD-32764 (cloud). We would suggest you vote and watch the feature request which applies to you so you may receive future updates on their status.
There are add-ons available within the marketplace which may suit your requirements. Add-ons are available for trails and we would suggest you test these add-ons within a staging environment to ensure their functionality meets your requirements before purchasing.
I hope this clarifies the available features within Confluence for accessing Jira issue along with the feature requests to add functionality to Confluence.

Hello @Casey Daniell , how can you display the last comment? I can´t find how to do it with a JQL query :-(

We ended up purchasing the plugin, which exposes a "Last Comment" field that we can use.
