Public user of a Cloud Confluence page is getting prompted to log in when using Safari on Mac

  • We have a public Confluence space for our data users.
  • A public (not logged in) user recently messaged us that he was getting prompted to log in when he went to pages in our public space
  • He was using Safari on a Mac
  • When he uses Chrome on the Mac he does not encounter the issue.

Questions

  • Is that common?
  • It is a reaction to something on the page, like a macro or jira ticket link? (Something I can fix)
  • Or is it just Safari? (meaning I can't fix it, and we just need to tell users not to use Safari to access our Confluence space.)

@Kathy Hart I have seen this occur in multiple browsers when they are already logged into the application?  What happens in incognito mode?
