Problem with sidebar width

Hi, everyone

I have some problem with sidebar (.ia-splitter-left). I can drag this panel on all window size. How can I fixed max-width=350px for sidebar?
I use Atlassian Confluence 5.9.2

Confluence 6.12, sidebar max width is hardcoded in JS. Now it is 640 px.

The only way we found is to substitute entire JS method AJS.toInit()... and change hardcoded var d = 640 with var d = 1500
