Users in my space continue to ask why they are unable to see images on my confluence page.
Originally they are able to see it, but subsequently after editing the page, they are no longer able to see ANY of the attachments on the page, without inspecting the page and "Clearing Cache and Hard Reloading".
Surprisingly, the report gets published successfully and all attachments can be previewed as expected at first.
The problem starts only after I hit on the Edit button and make some text based changes and then hit on the Update button.
While looking at the updated page (i.e., I am no longer in "Editing" mode at this point), all of the previews of the .png screenshots and .log files get a Preview Unavailable prompt for some/if not all of my users and myself.
Is there any workaround for this/script we could run to resave any attachments or images?
Any solutions are welcome, but fast/permanent solutions would be greatly appreciated.
-Thank you
I would echo what Kristian says - in my experience permissions can be an issue if you copy and paste - especially if one is on a server/ DC instance originally, as the permissions may have been set there and can cause issues in the cloud
Thanks
Abi
The problem is, the users can view the Images at first, but then eventually they are not able to.
Also, if they clear cached and hard reload, they are able to see the images, but only on the page that they are currently viewing.

Hi @Brandon Deaton and welcome to the community.
I've experienced the case of disappearing images in the following scenarios. Hopefully, this will help you to rule out potential cause and reach the solution.

@Kristian Klima
Most of the images are screen snips that were taken to use as part of a product description in our knowledgebase.
Is just copying and pasting a snippet not the correct way to insert a picture into a page?

@Brandon Deaton That should work just fine... but test if you actually have the images listed as attachments with proper file names. And check if the file name displayed in the view mode (when you click the image to embiggen it) is identical to the file name in the attachments list.
Weird as it sounds, they might be different.
They're identical here but when they weren't... the image would not be displayed in the view mode.

I posted this on the answer above:

It is not immediately when the images get put in the space.
Also, if they clear cache , they are able to see the images, but only on the page that they are currently viewing.

As reported here:
We have the same issue. We add images to a page, save it, seems to work.
Then edit the page, and the images are shown as “Preview unavailable”.
This happens seemingly at random and is irreversible.
The images are small, mostly pngs of interfaces we are designing. File size can't be the problem.
Very frustrating and leaves Confluence looking amateurish. Aggravated by the fact that already uploaded images can't be added to the page.

Hello @Brandon Deaton,
have you found a good solution for your issue?
We're currently experiencing the same situation and would be thankful for any kind of advice or possible solution.
Thanks and best regards,
Petra
