Possibility to restrict page access for Confluence system administrators

Georgi Mitov August 27, 2012

Hi,

We have a setup where we use Confluence to keep all kinds of compnay information - including development related info and docs, but also financial and HR documents - e.g. people HR records, etc.

The company is growing so at one point of time the owners, who were in the roles of System administrators initially, want to shift this responsibility to other people. However, if a person is added as a member of the Confluence System administrators team, then this person will be able to see all pages in the Conflunece instance, regardles of their page restrictions.

Is it possible to configure the Confluence so that the System admnistrators are not able to see some spaces or some pages?

Alernatively, do you know of plugin which allows page content to be encrypted and made availableonly by people knowing the password? This might be also a solution to the above problem.

Of course - any other solutions would be welcome!

Thanks,

dr

Hi, it'd be impossible to restrict pages to Confluence System Administrators. At the end of the day, if you drop their permission from it, they can just add it themselves. Anything that you add to restrict it based on permissions has the same effect.
