We have PlantUML plugin for Confluence. Worked fine till at least May 10th 2019. But now unable to save diagrams. Is this a known bug? Local to just us or new?

There is currently a large-scale problem in Confluence Cloud writing attachments. It's likely you're hitting that. They haven't put up an issue on their status, to date.
Atlassian have filed an active incident. It is now reporting as fixed.

thanks - although active incident claimed resolved - issue still ongoing ( lack of update/insert of new attachements for PlantUML ( just tested )

according to error 'plant.draw.io'. and name in Cloud Confluence is 'Plant UML for Confluence'

tried new page, diagram, old page, existing diagram same result

Unfortunately, it's Atlassian still. They regressed on the fix after 30 minutes, https://confluence.status.atlassian.com/
