Edit: So this turns out to be a Microsoft Edge issue. After the latest invisible update, the browser defaults to "Link" which is a named link, rather than your standard URL.
Settings to fix are in ... >Settings > Share, copy & paste > Plain text.

I've noticed recently that URLs are being automatically rewritten in Confluence
A URL with http://site.name.com is being rewritten as pagetitle - knowledgebase title - confluence (atlassian.net).
This necessitates me to click the link to convert it to another form (in my case "Display as link" because I've got 150 other pages with this form).
I don't know if this is the same issue or note. However, it was mentioned to us on a call with Atlassian. Where we were copying and pasting links into a confluence page using Microsoft Edge and we noticed that the links in the confluence page were not being shown on our customer tickets. I noticed two brackets at the beginning of the ECS ticket and when I had our customer support agent remove the brackets the confluence pages were showing on the customer ECS tickets. See below
Updating ticket: how we discovered the glitch. This is due to Microsoft Edge.
When the user pastes the ECS ticket to the confluence page, it adds the link with brackets. [ECS-1757] Flight 742 SAN-OAK on 5/19/24 appears in the cancelled flights report, but the crew is no longer there.
When we paste it as plain text, it works fine. ECS-1757: Flight 742 SAN-OAK on 05/19/24 appears in the cancelled flights report, but the crew is no longer there.
The fix is to copy the URL that you are trying to paste without the brackets. Right-click and select Paste, then select Change default as shown in image 1. Again, in order for you to see the change default, you have to have a copied link in your buffer.
Now, when you click on Change default, the Share, copy and paste screen from the settings page will open. You will see two options (link) and (plain text); see image 2.
Select plain text and click on the switch. (Use the format selected above when copying links within web pages.) See image 3.
Now, when you use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-V or right-click to paste, The link will be copied without the brackets; see image 4.
