New (?) tasks/notifications feature

I am trying to familiarize myself with the new tasks/notification feature, and relying upon your online documentation - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Managing+Tasks+in+Confluence

1. Is there way for users to be notified via email, in addition to the notifications icon, when a task has been assigned? (I don't see this option in the email preferences.)

2. The following sentence in your documentation doesn't make sense:

To complete a task, or mark it as incomplete, choose the check box next to the task. Completing a task and marking it incomplete seem like opposites; is this just a typo?

For #2, I assume they mean "to complete a task, choose the check box (check it). To mark a task incomplete (that was previously marked as complete) choose the check box (un-check it)."

Yes, this is what they meant. I am not sure why they stubbornly cling to confusing wording though.
