New page editing experience; how can I make single column sections?

In the old editing experience you could, using layouts, create sections that were just one column wide. I can't seem to find how to do this any more. Multi columns don't work for me. I need the single columns. It keeps things nice and tidy and makes pages well organized and flow great. Please tell me how to do this. And please tell me you did not eliminate single columns.

@Derek PietzYes that is not possible.

As a workaround I am not adding section at all, just using plain canvas and creating sections just by adding headings. I also tried adding Divider, but that look a bit odd.
