Hi Jovan,

It sounds like the setup wizard had trouble writing to confluence.cfg.xml in the root of the Confluence home directory. That's where the setup steps, database connection details and some other parameters are stored.

For best results:

  1. Make sure the user running the service has the ability to write to the Confluence home directory.
  2. Delete the confluence.cfg.xml file in the root of the Confluence home directory.
  3. Connect to a new, empty database during the setup wizard.

I look forward to hearing whether these steps help you get Confluence installed.

Thanks,

Ann

Hi Jovan,

Never seen that error before, can you tell us more: what steps of the setup did you run? Did they all worked well? Can you check if CONF_HOMe and database have been prepopulated? All of those should give hints on where it's failing!

Thanks

  1. I've installed just Postgres on fresh ubuntu server (but doesn't matter as the same crash for H2).
Then downloaded installation bin form Atlassian website
  2. Ran the bin as administrator
  3. Chosen the Express installation
  4. Script finished well and asked me if I want to start the service - answered Yes
  5. then I have continued in the browser on the 9080 port
  6. After the database is created (in case that Postgres was used) - I checked the scheme and there was something like 111 tables.
  7. When tried to continue the process to -  "manage users", site finished like that. (the name for the step might be a little bit different as I don't have the screens accessible right now)

Hi,

I'm very surprised as everything seems to be done properly. I'll try and get some support from Atlassian for you here. Hope you'll find a way to enjoy Confluence!

Cheers
