Move Single Confluence Space: Server to Cloud

Cassandra Ware October 23, 2018

How can I import a confluence space from a Confluence Server to a Confluence Cloud?

I have put all the groups that had permissions of the space from the Server Confluence into the Cloud Confluence. However I continue to get the error message:

"There was an error during import", so I have no clue what exactly is failing

Hi Cassandra,

Thanks for contacting us through our community channel!

The error you mentioned can be caused due to a variety of reasons. Due to this, first I'd like to point out a few steps you can take to try to migrate your Confluence server instance to cloud again.

We recommend the use of the following add-on provided in our marketplace:

To install the app:

  1. In Confluence Server go to  > Manage apps.
  2. Choose Find new add-ons
  3. Search for the Cloud Migration Assistant for Confluence app.
  4. Choose Install, and you're all set.

If your Confluence Server site is behind a firewall, you'll need to allow outgoing traffic to your new Cloud site, and also https://migrations.atlassian.com.

Using the app

To use the app:

  1. In Confluence Server, go to  > General Configuration > Migration Assistant
  2. Choose Explore migration Run analysis.

The analysis evaluates your Confluence Server instance and displays the number of spaces, pages, and attachments contained in your current environment. It will also provide you with an estimate of the amount of time it will take to migrate all your spaces.

More details about the migration plan can be checked here.

Thanks,

Nágila
