Move Confluence from Rackspace to AWS (Amazon Web Services)

Hi All,

We are planning to move our Confluence PROD instance from Rackspace to AWS (Amazon WebServices).

Can you please help me on this to start and precautionary steps that needs to be taken before moving the Instance.

I haven't found any tutrial on the same . Please let me know the links any if there are.

Hi Akash,

The easiest way to so it is to setup a new environement and then restore the Confluence from backup to get your PROD data. The steps:

  1. Deploy a new environment in a couple of minutes using Deploy4Me: https://deploy4me.com/en/install/jira.html
  2. Make a backup from PROD environment
  3. Restore the backup to a new AWS environment
  4. Create AWS elastic IP for your new instance
  5. Map DNS to your elastic IP

This is much easier than the manual transitioning of the system.
