Hi there,
Wondering if it's possible to migrate an entire Confluence and Jira space into another.
For context:
* Company A acquired Company B
* Company A and Company B have separate Atlassian instances (for Confluence and Jira)
* We would like to add the Company B Confluence content into the Company A Confluence
* We would like to add the Company B Jira content into the Company A Jira
I know we can do it individually (space by space, project by project) but it would be great if we can do it all at once.
For Confluence, yes, there is space export and import via XML - you can export a space from one Confluence, and, assuming that the space key is not already used in the target, import the whole thing. You may need to fiddle with the user permissions.
Jira merges are a whole different affair, there's no export or simple import. You'll need to think about using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, or CSV imports, or using other apps that might do migrations for you.
what the options are will largely depend on what the current deployment is. For example, if you are coming from a Server based deployment or if the source instance is already on cloud.
This could provide a good first reading, having Jira additionally already in place could add several additional considerations to your migration process on top.
General information can be found here: https://www.atlassian.com/migration
Regards,
Daniel
