Is there a keyboard shortcut for formatting a selected text as monospace? Alternatively, is there a special trigger, like { character triggering a macro chooser?
When writing technical documentation, there would inevitably be text that needs to be formatted in monospace. It's a pain to repeatedly select text, reach for the A icon on the toolbar, and then selecting 'Monospace'.
Hello @jeenuv ,
I am not aware of a keyboard shortcut for formatting text as monospace. According to this link there is a shortcut (ctrl + shift + m), but that didnt work for me. The solution that i am using is to do markup as {{text to be formatted in monospace}}. The double curly-brackets at the start and end of the text does the job. Its not a keyboard shortcut, but it is simple and easy to do.
To see all available key shortcuts and markups, press the "?" in the top right corner of the window when editing a page in confluence.
Hope this helps,
Good luck with your Confluence endeavors!
{{ }} works for me, although I still itch for a shortcut (just like to make text bold/italic). Meanwhile, I've reported an error on the page you linked.
And I've never spotted the ? while editing pages either!
Thank you for the pointers!

Ctrl+Shift+M is Insert Media; the closest thing to a shortcut is Ctrl+7, but that (like the other Ctrl+number shortcuts) operates on a paragraph basis. Atlassian is just lame.

In Confluence Cloud, placing ` to either side of a character string shows the text as monospaced (In the new editor, this also includes a grey background, in the old editor it is just the regular background color)
Also, the ? has moved to the bottom-right in the new editor!
You may also use the /Code macro to insert a formatted code "snipett", with some syntax highlighting, etc.
