Jira Issue cannot find new Confluence page during in-line search; You don't have an application link

erin_quick-laughlin July 23, 2020

To Recreate:

  1. Confirm Jira and Confluence is already linked (we have been using this in Cloud for more than a year now)
  2. Confirm your new Confluence page eixsts (e.g. "Survey Whiteboard")
  3. From existing Jira issue, click Link Confluence Page (drop down from Link Issue)
  4. Search for your new page ("Survey Whiteboard")
  5. Note that type-ahead does not find it, and hitting enter will yield this error: "You don't have an application link set up for that Confluence site."

We've confirmed the order of events above - and made sure to refresh the Jira page to try and pickup and last minute sync.

It seems there is either a synchronizing lag, or something needs to push from Confluence to Jira when a new Confluence page is created.

Here's the funny thing:  If we add the Jira ticket to the confluence page, the link then appears in the Jira issue, and it shows up in other tickets inline search / type-ahead.  So we know that something is being updated, but only when we link the issue from Confluence.

Hi Erin,

If you are still having issues, I would recommend that you open a support ticket with atlassian support.
