Java.io.IOException error

I am receiving the following error when I see a Jira item in a Confluence page:

 

java.io.IOException: Error on line 1: The markup in the document preceding the root element must be well-formed.

 

When I click on the corresponding Jira link, it just takes me to the Jira Service Desk.
