Issue with background-size: cover?

I'm a space admin who doesn't have the permissions to edit CSS files, however I do have a source code editor that allows me to add styles to tables.

I'm able to use a background image on a table cell with along with other properties such as background-repeat, background-color, and background-position, however when I try to use:

background-size: cover;

It is either ignored or removed. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a bug?

well, I think "background-size" is simply not supported.

I had similiar questions and opened a thread years ago: PDF-Export: Which CSS properties do work and which ones not?

My findings then:

Not all CSS is supported. Most CSS 2 does work, most CSS 3 don't. "background-size" falls into the second category.

Unless nothing much has changed since then this should still hold true.
