In the instance I am using, and I think others I have seen in the past, the default text color for Confluence is not black, but some dark blue/grey color.
It can be frustrating when creating content. We need to change the color to black manually - and unfortunately, for whatever reason, highlighting the text and selecting black doesn't always work, so I need to change everything first to red and then to black.
When pasting in content from other areas, the default text color is used, so the color change needs to be remembered every time AND, if there are intentional color changes in the text, then bulk color changing gets trickier because that text needs to be identified for post-correction correction.
If you share a screenshot of the html object inspected I can write some CSS that will apply it all over your instance.
Hi @Brant Schroeder ,
Sorry I missed this! How can I do that?
I doubt my request for an instance-wide CSS will be agreed to (I'm not the admin of this instance) but it's good to have the info!

@Rob Horan if you highlight the text that you want to be black and then inspect the element by right clicking you should see the HTML that will allow me to help with some CSS.

@Rob Horan That is really interesting that a span within the paragraph. Do you have an app that you are using to change color on your instance?

Not an admin, so I don't know.

@Rob Horan you could technically make the change through CSS but it will be difficult since the color is inline. If you would like for me to create that I would have to see a larger snippet of code. You would then need to have your admin implement it.

I appreciate it, but I wouldn't want you to go through the effort. Its good to know this is an option that I can bring to the admin team for exploration. Thanks!
