Is it possible to lock a page's content for editing in Forge?

Jeremiah Reed April 4, 2022

I'm building a custom Forge e-sign application to integrate another signing solution and want to be able to lock the current page so that it cannot be edited after sending for signature, similar to the built-in e-sign option.

Unless I'm just using the wrong terms, I am not able to find any documentation on locking content or making a single page (or subpages) read-only using the REST API for Confluence.

Hey @Jeremiah Reed,

I haven't tried this out myself so it might not work as expected, but my first idea would be to set the content restrictions of the given page so that just your app user has write permissions and everyone else has read permissions. That should make it read-only while giving your app the option to still update the content.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Sven
