Is it possible to embed the space-level Search bar into an image or background image?

Would like the GUI to look like this:

I think it can be done in few steps

1. Adding an image you would like to have as "background"..
2. Adding livesearch macro on the same page
3. Modifying CSS (play with position/margin/padding of livesearch macro class "search-macro-fields" - you can use developer tools build in the browser to quickly see the results
4. When you are satisfied with the result include CSS modification into your space to make it permanent

Thank you for that post. Is there a chance to get a step-by-step guide for this? I have troubles to find the option to modify the CSS styles. If I google it, it is unfortunately not working with my version. 

Can someone help?
