Is it possible to add images to the header or the footer when exporting pages to a pdf file?

Stefani Siqueira June 30, 2014

I'm trying to add an image to the header of a pdf file when exporting the pages of a space. I've tried the code below in the PDF layout section with no success.

<div style="margin-top:10mm">
<img src="/download/attachments/12346/header-image.png"/>
</div>
Also, I've tried to add the image by adding some code to the PDF Stylesheet section (as seen below) and referencing it in the PDF layout section . Failed again.
  1. #images
  2. {
  3. width:100%;
  4. height:100%;
  5. background: url("http://confluence/download/attachments/21071879/header-image.png") no-repeat;
  6. }
Is that a bug on Confluence? I'm currently running Confluence 5.2.3. Am I doing something wrong?

Stefani,

By default, the items in the header only apply when you export the space itself and not the pages inside of it. The information at Advanced PDF Export Customizations should be helpful in adding what you are needing.

I have successfully added a logo to the space and can export this to PDF for 1 or more pages.

- Link the logo to the back of any page in your space. Copy the location of this link

- In the PDF Space Export Title Page, Export Header, follow the instructions above and add your copied link the logo.

- To Export:  (the logo will only appear when you use the custom export option)

  • Space Settings --> Content Tools --> Export Tab --> Selected PDF and Next
  • Selected Custom Export
  • Selected only the Pages I wanted, then selected Export and downloaded the PDF
  • The logo appeared on each page

I managed to find out how to do this before your email. Nevertheless, appreciate your reply. Thanks.

I tried to follow instructions from Advanced PDF Export Customizations page and I believe Stefani followed the instructions (just as I have) from this page and applied the code in the PDF layout tab.  I tried this with no success and was not able to see the image displayed in the header, when I exported the specific page.
