Hello Confluence Community,
I used to rely on the export feature in Confluence to generate PDFs and Word documents from my pages. It was a great tool for sharing content in different formats with my team. However, I recently noticed that the option to export as PDF (and Word) seems to have disappeared from the interface.
Has this functionality been changed or moved in recent updates? Is PDF export still a default feature in Confluence Cloud, or do I need to enable it through some settings?
Any guidance or clarification would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Hello @Taehong Kim ,
yes pdf exports are still a default feature which you can access over the 3 dots and
export, however this requires the permission to be able to export in confluence which usually isnt part of the standard permissions for normal users. You can enable this for users under space tools -> users -> permissions and then under te last point space check the point export.
best regards
henning
The export options you mentioned are already enabled, and I’m using an admin account. However, despite this, the export menu is still not visible. I'm unsure why this is happening as everything seems to be set up correctly on my end.

Hi @Taehong Kim can you please confirm the marked position is the same for your account in that space ?
Being an admin alone isnt enough to have that permission.
If you have this permission and cannot see the export option then i would advise you to contact atlassian support for this being a bug.

Other things you could also try to do would be removing yourself permission wise from the space and then re adding yourself with all permissions and trying again. Check if there are maybe restrictions on the page youre trying to export and check if a page without restrcitions is able to be exported.

I finally found out why this feature was disabled: the data export feature was disabled by the data security policy. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

@Taehong Kim , great find! That's indeed one other part where exporting can be disabled. It's pretty new/just out of beta I think, so that might explain that we were not yet so aware of it :)
Thanks for sharing!

Hi @Taehong Kim
Is your instance not over license limit?
Has a 3rd party a been installed recently?
Otherwise raise an issue at Atlassian Support

Hi @Taehong Kim ,
As far as I know, it continues to be native/standard functionality in Confluence. Below screenshot is from my free confluence test environment, where I still see the options. Can you share a bit more on what is failing on your side, maybe with a screenshot?

I used to have the export menu that you mentioned as well. However, at some point, it stopped appearing for me. I'm not sure exactly when this happened, but it's no longer available in my instance of Confluence Cloud.
