I successfully imported a space, and everything seems to be functioning as expected. However, I am unable to locate the space within the system. Upon attempting to import it again, I received a message indicating that the space already exists. Unfortunately, I'm unsure of its current location.
It's worth noting that a previous space import worked seamlessly, and I was able to locate the space without any issues.
Any guidance or assistance in locating the space would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Bibiana
Welcome to the community!
Go to the space from Space Permissions page hyperlink - likely you are missing view permissions in the Space and that's why it doesn't show up in the usual place. Perhaps it's missing confluence-administrators or whichever default group you use normally when you create Spaces.
One thing you also might want to consider (that we ran into while doing a migration): sometimes the permission scheme of an imported space does not have the necessary permissions set. Therefore, the only way to find the space is to log in with a user who is a member of the "confluence-administrators" group. Then you can set the proper permissions and the space will be visible.

This also happened to us, but the fix was slightly different. We imported a Space from a Cloud backup and it wasn't visible to anyone. Not even Confluence Admins.
We exported the Space from a Paid Cloud instance that had its own list of Users and Groups. We had a new Free Cloud instance with different list of Users and Groups, then imported the old Space. But we couldn't see the Space even after importing it!
In the Free instance, we had to upgrade from Free to a Trial Standard Plan to unlock the "Space permissions" area of the Confluence. That allowed a new link "Recover Permissions" to appear next to the imported Space. Clicking it added me individually with ability to administer the imported Space, where I added Groups and Users that were part of the new instance.
So if you have a Free Plan, you may need to start a Trial Standard Plan. Then access the Confluence Administration - Space permissions. Use "Recover Permissions" link to re-gain access.

I've hit the exact same problem and this seems like a bug. The importer shouldn't leave the imported space in a state where no-one has admin rights.

So really, we are left with the notice that no new content can be created due to the hidden imported spaces. Yet there is not way to delete the hidden imported spaces?

I also happened to run into the same situation and found the solution by going through community answers. The problem is that whenever we import a space, we don't have permission access to it by default, hence we can't see it at our end. After successfully importing the space once, follow these steps to recover access permissions:

the only way i could solve this, is by being lucky to have a trial version to be activated and take ownership of the space. and then revert it back to free tier again.
It seems really like a bug, that its even possible to import when you are unable to delete or change permissions.
