I created backup of Confluence Cloud using Backup manager (button "Create backup for cloud"), download it and tried to restore original file (Import spaces menu, selected original zip archive).
Restoring fails right after unzipping on server with error: «Only Confluence space exports can be imported». Again and again.
I unsuccessfully tried to unzip backup and zip it using Terminal to exclude macOS files (.DS_Store and etc). The same error.
So, I cleaned Confluence Cloud and created new backup with only one space and one page and tried to restore it on macOS and Windows 10. Both times it failed.
Looks like restoring backups not working…
How can I restore my data from Confluence Cloud backup?
How can I know why restoring backup fails, can I see logs of Confluence Cloud?
What are the requirements to backup file, why it can’t be restored?
You have to create a space export and not a complete backup, if you want to restore only one space.
For this, go to the space, space settings and then export. There you can create a space export.
I want to restore all spaces with complete backup, not only one space.
But even with complete backup of only one space I can’t restore it. This was just for example and testing.

Hi,
You can import spaces, one at a time, and use the space export for that.
Or you import a complete backup choosing to restore a site. But that will overwrite all existing data. For this, you need a full backup.
You can not import spaces from a full backup.

@Bastian Stehmann , thanks!
I finally restored the backup.
I have to say that the process is difficult to guess yourself that a backup can be restored only if one product is activated.

Which product did you activated beofre you were able to restore the entire backup zip file
