Has anyone else come across this issue? We have just found out that people using IE 11 to view our site cannot see the "previews" of images that have been attached to a page within the last few months or so: all they see is a placeholder (see below). However, if they click on the placeholder, the image is shown in the viewer full size in the normal way.
We did not realise this as we use Chrome as our browser of choice ... and everything works fine in that! Some further investigation has shown that anyone using Edge or Firefox can also see the images, but everyone using IE 11 appears to have this issue!
Is this a bug in IE or in Confluence and is there a workaround?
Thanks in advance for any light you may be able to shed on this

IE is NOT fully HTML5 compatible
It is somewhat random what ways it exhibits its "annoyances" - it is not consistent across all machines, even with the same Windows version or browser version - some suffer, some don't - some weird interaction of hardware and versions .. ?????
ONLY solution is to use a HTML5 compatible browser like Firefox or Chrome etc
Here is another known weird issue of not allowing copy/paste which has us scratching heads ... solution : a different browser!!!!
We have the exactly same issue after updating from CONF 5.10 to 6.9

Update: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-45822
Older images were displayed at full size, hence they show properly in IE.
