If a user has no more access to the confluence.

mohit jangid December 17, 2024

Hi Community,

I have a query regarding Confluence access. If a user is deactivated and no longer has access to Confluence, what happens to the documents/pages created by that user?

  • Will those documents still be visible to other users?
  • If not, is there a way to ensure continued access to those documents?

Looking forward to your insights and solutions!

Hello @mohit jangid

Yes, the content created by that user remains in Confluence with the same permissions it has before the user was deactivated.

Thanks you @Trudy Claspill ,
I just want to tell you that currently I'm using the confluence for the JIRA Data center version, I hope your answer is still along with this as well?

Hi @mohit jangid ,

On additional note, if you're using Confluence Cloud Premium or Enterprise, there is a admin key feature with which org and site admins can 'unlock' restricted pages or spaces.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tobi
