I just upgraded confluence from 5.1 to 5.2.3 and get the error "confluence will not start up because the build number in the home directory [4215] doesn't match the build number in the database [3281]." on startup

Hi Bill,

This is actually a known issue and we have a KB for that.

The workaround would be:

1. Backup Confluence
2. Shutdown Confluence
3. Execute this SQL query

   1	DELETEFROMCONFVERSION;

4. Restart Confluence

In my case that did not seem to help and since my maintenance window was almost over, I had to fall back to confluence 5.1.
